Library

The Victoria Handweavers' and Spinners' Guild has an extensive library of over 700 textile-related books and several magazine subscriptions.

The library opens from 7:00 pm on meeting nights.

Active Members and Honorary Life Members may borrow books. Associate and Student Members have access to the library but cannot borrow any books.

Authors include early writers such as Mary Meigs Atwater, whose book, Byways in Handweaving (1954) helped preserve various weaving techniques from around the world, and Sharon Alderman, whose book Mastering Weave Structure (2004) is a study guide and inspiration to contemporary weavers.

Topics include the basics of weaving, spinning, design and dying fibres and expand to details of particular subjects such as tapestry, basketry, rug making, ikat, Celtic knotwork and loom embroidery.
